Keystone Colorado, located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, provides a beautiful setting for the SEG 2018 Conference.
The rustic yet elegant Keystone Conference Center is about 90 minutes west of Denver. It sits directly across from Keystone Village with the scenic Keystone Lake and a festive ski-town feel featuring shops, galleries, and restaurants.
Keystone Resort offers a complimentary shuttle between conference facilities, lodging accommodations, restaurants, and recreational activities.
Please dress comfortably and be prepared for varying temperatures. At 9000 feet in elevation, the weather in September can swing quickly so be prepared with multiple layers and perhaps rain wear. With this altitude, please drink plenty of water. People with special health concerns are advised to take the altitude into consideration.
Exhibits, along with poster presentations, opening ceremony, and receptions will be in the Columbine Ballroom at the Keystone Conference Center.
Each room will be set with a head table for 3 people and a standing podium on the side. For workshop rooms with 50 attendees or less, the room will be set schoolroom style (tables provided for each participant). All other sessions will be set theater style (chairs only).
Each room is equipped with the following:
For workshop presenters, please plan to bring your own computer, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Bring any special adaptors necessary to connect your computer to the projector – especially Apple users.
For technical session speakers, please save slides to a flash (USB) drive labeled with the last name of the presenter and give this to the AV technician in the session room in advance. Have a back-up flash drive available for unforeseen issues. Computers will be provided in the larger presentation rooms. This includes the plenary and technical sessions.
The set-up is the same as for workshops (above).
The Speaker Ready Room will be located in the Crestone Office during the hours listed below. This room will be available for speakers to work on their presentations.
September 21 (Friday) - September 24 (Monday): 8:00am - 5:00pm
September 25 (Tuesday): 8:00am - 1:30pm
Please plan to arrive to your room about 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Audiovisual staff will be available to upload your slides. If you have any questions in advance, please contact Conference Organizer, Kathy Basel, at +1 (720) 217-5692.
The set-up for speed talks is the same as for technical sessions, but slides will be collected in advance. Please review this area for updates with specific information. Also, please refer to Slide Preparation information, given above.
