In order to attend the SEG 2017 Conference, you will need to apply for a business visa. Please contact your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate for detailed information regarding visa application.
Note that most visitors to China will also require a visa invitation letter. Please submit the information below* to the Conference Organizer at seg2017@g-i-events.com and they will provide the invitation letter supporting your visa application. The visa invitation letter can only be issued after the attendee's full registration fee has been received.

Yes. All registered attendees will receive access in the venue for the duration of the conference. Please check with your hotel regarding internet in your room.

Yes, we anticipate most field trips and short courses will sell out. For availability, refer to the field trips or workshops pages. Preference will be given to the first 1,200 SEG 2017 Conference registrants.
We strongly suggest that you purchase conference dinner tickets when you register for the conference. Final catering numbers are submitted a few weeks before the conference opens. Onsite dinner purchase requests may only be possible if there are cancellations.
Business casual.
Weather in late September is generally the nicest of the year. Air is typically the cleanest and the daily mean maximum temperature is 25°C (77°F) and the mean minimum temperature is 15°C (59°F). Visit the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) website for more information. Weather in China can be variable, so please bring warm jackets for the evenings and layers for the days.
Abstracts will be reviewed immediately after the submission deadline passes and acceptance letters e-mailed by May 15, 2017.

If an SEG Student Member receives travel support to attend the SEG 2017 Conference, they may also be eligible for shared accommodations support. Full details will be e-mailed to eligible students by May 31, 2017. Students who are not presenting an oral or poster presentation are not eligible for this support.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best oral presentation and top three poster presentations by students. Winners will be announced at the SEG Awards Ceremony.
